Cantu concentu! Or in English, Choral Concert! Featuring pieces in both Latin and English, this performance is not just a school event, but a vocal extravaganza! turning mere notes into a symphony of joy and festivity. On November 30th, at 7pm, the Tower Hill Choir and Vocal Ensemble will have the opportunity to perform three songs each, of varying intensity and melody. Featuring classics such as Carol of the Bells and Gloria In Excelsis Deo, as well as more exotic tunes like Bonse Aba, there is something for everybody.
Tower Hill students have worked vigorously to learn, memorize, and finetune pieces, all with the sole goal of performing in front of the student body. In the words of soloist and vocal ensemble member, Janie du Pont, “We have been working hard on the pieces both inside and outside of the classroom. In class, we practice our sight reading skills and singing with solfege, as well as rehearsing the songs for the choral concert.”
Alongside the Upper School Choir stands the Lower and Middle School Choruses, which will all perform at the same concert. This harmonious convention of musical talent promises an evening filled with diverse tunes and melodies. The Lower and Middle ensembles bring a youthful energy to the stage, infusing the concert with a delightful vibrancy. As each group collaborates, the music turns into a celebration of unity, talent, and joy that transcends any age barrier, certain to reach every member of the audience.
Whether you are a parent, friend, or simply a person who happens to have free time that night, attending this multifaceted choral event provides the chance to witness an unforgettable experience. Speaking on behalf of the entire choir, Janie adds, “We have put a lot of time and effort into these pieces for the Tower Hill community and I hope they come out to watch!”
