The Oscars, but for Valentine’s Movies

As Valentine's month is coming to an end, who doesn't love to snuggle up and watch a good movie? I know that I do, especially if it is a good, cheesy love story! Here is my take on the best movie for every genre:

Best Rom-Com: 27 Dresses

27 Dresses is a perfect movie if you are looking for a cute, light hearted, romantic comedy. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, Jane Nichols has been in 27 different weddings. One night, as she is switching between two different weddings, she runs into Kevin Doyle, a journalist. He shares his cynical beliefs of marriage, which she definitely does not agree with. Meanwhile, disaster strikes for Jane when her sister visits her and snags Jane's unrequited crush: her boss. Always putting others' needs before her own, she unhappily helps plan her sister’s wedding. Kevin, fascinated by her and her 27 bridesmaid dresses, secretly begins writing an article about her. This begins to be a complication as the two start to fall in love…

Best Romance/Drama: The Notebook

If you love a romantic, dramatic love story, The Notebook is perfect for you! Craving a sense of freedom, the rich young girl, Allie, falls for the young mill worker, Noah. But, with her parents disapproval, the romance ends at the end of the summer. Time goes on, and eventually Noah joins the army and Allie begins dating another man. But, when Allie returned to the tiny town many years later, she realized that the spark was still there…

Best Teen Movie:10 Things I Hate About You

10 Things I Hate About You is the movie to watch if you are craving a late 90s vibe! When the pretty and popular Bianca wants to go on a date, her father comes up with a seemingly impossible compromise: she can date as soon as her older sister gets a boyfriend. Cameron, a new kid with a huge crush on Bianca, decides to pay the charming rebel, Patrick, to go out with Bianca’s snarky, but smart and beautiful older sister, Kat. Surprisingly, the task isn’t as impossible as everyone thinks, but let's hope Kat doesn’t find out it was a bet!

Best Musical: Grease

Grease can take you into the world of teens in the 1950s. It is filled with catchy songs, dances, romances, and friendships. Sandy, the wholesome new student from Australia, is shocked to find her summer fling, Danny, at her new school. But she becomes even more shocked when he is a totally different person at school. Will Danny and Sandy’s romance continue, even though Danny has a “cool guy” reputation to uphold?
