At Tower Hill School, the spirit of Thanksgiving extends beyond the dinner table, reaching the school grounds in the form of a new cherished tradition—the Turkey Trot. This lively event is sure to become a staple in the school's Thanksgiving celebrations, bringing high school students and faculty together for a festive and active start to the holiday. The Turkey Trot is a fun run organized by the school held in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Participants, adorned in a mix of festive attire and some in full on turkey suits, gather to run or walk a designated course in Rockford Park. The event serves as a joyful way for the Tower Hill community to come together, promote fitness, and share in the spirit of gratitude.

Many students and families have their own unique traditions too. One tradition involves the practice of wearing matching pajamas on Thanksgiving Day with their family. "It's become a fun and comfortable way for us to celebrate the holiday together," shares the student. The choice of matching sleepwear adds a distinct touch to their Thanksgiving experience.
Another Tower Hill student adds a touch of classic holiday nostalgia to their family's Thanksgiving tradition by annually watching "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving." This student loves the timeless charm of Charlie Brown, stating, “It has to be one of my favorite films ever. I’ve been watching it since I was young so I can’t imagine Thanksgiving without it!”. Annually, they immerse themselves in the enduring charm of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the Peanuts gang, finding comfort and nostalgia from the animated film.
In conclusion, Tower Hill School's student’s Thanksgiving celebrations showcase a rich variety of traditions. While they're all different, each tradition is incredibly important to each individual person. And when the holiday comes around each year, they always know exactly what they have to look forward to.
